Yaxel Lendeborg hits dramatic game-winner to send Michigan to B1G final
Michigan advanced to the final of the Big Ten Tournament thanks to a dramatic victory over Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
The Wolverines needed a big shot in the closing seconds and Big Ten Player of the Year Yaxel Lendeborg delivered. He hit a 3-pointer with just 0.3 left on the clock to send Michigan to the title game.
Here’s a clip of Lendeborg’s big moment, which broke a 65-65 tie:
Lendeborg finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal in the win.
Michigan center Aday Mara had a huge afternoon, leading the Wolverines with a team-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Mara also chipped in 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 blocks.
With this victory, Michigan is now 35-2 on the season and is well on track to be a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament when brackets are announced on Sunday.
Michigan will face either Purdue or UCLA in the Big Ten Tournament final on Sunday. The Wolverines went 1-0 against both the Boilermakers and the Bruins during the regular season.
