On Thursday afternoon, 10 B1G quarterbacks were named to the watchlist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
The award goes to the top senior or upperclassmen who is set to graduate with their class and the candidates are chosen based on player performance on and off the field.
One of the quarterbacks from the B1G who landed on the watchlist was Michael Penix Jr. and if he’s anything like was last season for this season, he will be a major candidate to win it. Before he got hurt, he threw for 1,645 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Spencer Petras of Iowa is also on it as he was a major reason why Iowa closed out their 2020 campaign with 6 straight wins. In his first year as the Hawkeyes starter, he threw for 1,569 yards with 9 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions.

- Jack Plummer, Purdue
- Anthony Russo, Michigan State
- Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland
The winner will be announced on Dec. 10 and be presented with the Golden Arm Award trophy.
