A total of 16 Buckeyes will not be available for Ohio State’s spring game on Saturday.

Ohio State will take the field at 12 p.m. ET in Columbus for its annual spring game, which will feature an offense vs. defense format. More than a dozen players will miss the scrimmage because of injuries or out of caution.

Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch tweeted out the list of players who are unavailable for Saturday’s game:

  • Kamryn Babb, WR
  • Ryan Batsch, LB
  • Ben Christman, OL
  • Corban Cleveland, WR
  • Marcus Crowley, RB
  • Jantzen Dunn, DB
  • Tyler Friday, DE
  • Josh Fryar, OL
  • Palaie Gaoteote, LB
  • Zach Herbstreit, TE
  • Cade Kacherski, LB
  • Trey Leroux, OL
  • Zan Michalski, OL
  • Elias Myers, LB
  • Lathan Ransom, S
  • Mitch Rossi, TE

Because of the number of injuries and players out, Ryan Day decided to scrap a traditional scrimmage and run an offense vs. defense format. It should still give us some idea of what defensive changes were made under new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles.

Saturday’s game will air on Big Ten Network.
