The Maxwell Award semifinalists were officially named on Monday and the B1G was represented with a couple of players who made the cut.

The award goes to the best all-around player in college football each season and has been given out each year since 1937.

Kenneth Walker III of Michigan State is 1 of the 2 players from the B1G who made it and that shouldn’t be a surprise. He’s been arguably the best running back in the nation this season and is fresh off a 5 touchdown performance against Michigan. Overall, he has 175 carries for 1,194 yards and 14 touchdowns through only 8 games.

CJ Stroud of Ohio State is the other player from the B1G to make it. Stroud has been the best quarterback in the conference as he has 2,270 yards passing with 23 touchdowns to 3 interceptions through 8 games.

It’s likely that both players will be named finalists before the winner is picked at the end of the season.
