The Pittsburgh Steelers have named their captains for this season — and two of them played the B1G.

Former Ohio State defensive tackle Cameron Heyward and former Wisconsin running back Derek Watt join Ben Roethlisberger as Pittsburgh’s captain’s in 2021, the Steelers announced Monday.

Heyward was the Steelers’ 1st-round pick in 2011 out of Ohio State and has been named All-Pro twice in his career. Last season, he had 30 tackles, 4 sacks and 1 interception for the Steelers en route to his 4th Pro Bowl. This will be his seventh season as a captain in Pittsburgh.

Watt was a 6th-round pick by the San Diego Chargers in 2016 and signed a 3-year deal with Pittsburgh in 2020. He didn’t see action on offense in the regular season, but had two touches in the AFC Wild Card game. Watt played a lot of special teams, though, and turned a bad Denver Broncos punt into a safety in Week 2 of the regular season.

The Steelers open their season on Sept. 12 against Buffalo.
