Princess Anne High School (Virginia Beach, VA) 2021 five-star CB Tony Grimes narrowed his list to 13 schools on Twitter on Friday.
The No. 1 CB in the class and the top player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite, Grimes holds a reported 32 offers from the country’s best programs.

Of the three B1G programs to make the cut, Maryland has been on Grimes the longest. Originally offering him on June 21, 2017, Grimes took an unofficial visit to College Park on March 2, 2019.
Despite offering Grimes on May 15, 2018, it appears the five-star is no longer considering the Michigan Wolverines.
His two Crystal Ball predictions are split between Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.
At 6-foot, 180-pounds, Grimes possesses the size and speed necessary to cover Power Five wide receivers. His ability to run and coverage instincts should allow him to be a contributor from the day he steps on-campus.
There is one factor that could give the Buckeyes a leg up in Grimes’ recruitment. Ohio State only has six cornerbacks on their projected 2021 roster; compared to 10 for Maryland and nine for Penn State. Plus, the Buckeyes’ reputation of sending defensive backs to the National Football League doesn’t hurt, either.
