The first B1G player taken in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft is a Buckeye.

Offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere was the first B1G player taken in the third round on Friday night, going No. 69 overall to the Tennessee Titans. He’ll team up with head coach Mike Vrabel to begin his NFL career.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive lineman was a regular in the trenches for the Buckeyes during his career. He played in 35 career games at Ohio State and made 20 starts.

At the end of the 2021 campaign, Petit-Frere was a first-team All-B1G selection and was one of the top offensive linemen in the B1G. He was the third offensive lineman selected in this year’s draft out of the B1G, behind Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum and Nebraska’s Cam Jurgens.

Petit-Frere was a two-time All-B1G selection, earning second-team honors following the 2020 season. He was the third Buckeye taken in this year’s draft, along with wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, both first-round picks.

Now, Petit-Frere heads to Nashville to begin his NFL career.
