The 2024 NFL Draft is wrapping up with Saturday’s coverage including Rounds 4-7. With every pick now finalized, the pick breakdown by conferences is particularly noteworthy.
Once again, it is the SEC leading the way in terms of total production with 59 selections per SportSource Analytics. That number wins in a landslide with no other conference producing 45+ picks. It is the 18th straight year that the SEC has produced the most draft picks.
Remarkably, the Pac-12 finished 2nd on the list in picks by conference with 43 while the B1G came in 3rd with 42. The ACC produced 41 while the Big 12 had 31.

Of course, these lists will look much different next season following the latest round of realignment. Despite their strong showing in the draft, the Pac-12 is about to go by the wayside with many of this year’s picks belonging to the B1G-bound quartet of USC, UCLA, Oregon and Washington.
The SEC and Big 12 numbers will also look drastically different. A key portion of the Big 12’s draft showing belonged to Texas and Oklahoma, a duo headed for the SEC this fall.
Overall, it will be interesting to revisit this numbers when the 2025 NFL Draft concludes. Will the SEC’s run of dominance continue, or can the B1G end the run with a big-time showing at the draft?
