Ohio State has been very fortunate to have some depth at running back this season. Fans got to see Dallan Hayden blossom before their very eyes.
Hayden finished the game against Maryland with 146 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns. Ohio State escaped SECU Stadium with a 43-30 win thanks in part to how Hayden ran the ball.
247Sports’ Josh Pate was very complimentary of Ohio State for its depth at RB. He used the term “quality depth” when talking about Hayden.
“Ohio State fans are about the extent of those who would know him nationally,” said Pate. “146 yards, three touchdowns. That’s called quality depth. That’s why you recruit him, that’s why you don’t stop paying attention after your 1s and 2s run through the line.”
“I hadn’t heard him on Ohio State (message) boards by mid-season, but there he was (on Saturday vs. Maryland).”@LateKickJosh discusses Ohio State true freshman RB Dallan Hayden, who ran for 146 yards and 3 touchdowns in a win over Maryland 🏈 pic.twitter.com/XedgEg7TI3

Hayden could see even more carries in the Buckeyes’ backfield if injuries continue happening at running back. All eyes will be on The Game this Saturday at noon ET on FOX.
