247Sports recruiting director Steve Wiltfong gave an update on Nebraska’s track record in the Class of 2023 with three targets.

Nebraska is making progress toward a remarkable recruiting class in 2023. Nebraska head coach Scott Frost is closing in on getting 3 commitments from highly touted recruits. Nebraska currently has the No. 45 ranked recruiting class in 2023 (Via 247Sports).

The Cornhuskers are locking in on Malachi Coleman, who is the No. 1 recruit in Nebraska. Coleman is a 4-star athlete and would be a major commitment for Nebraska to secure. The Cornhuskers seem to be the favorite to land Coleman, according to 247Sports’ Wiltfong.

It would be important for Nebraska to keep Coleman in the same state for college. In addition to being interested in Coleman, Nebraska is inching closer to getting commitments from 4-star defensive end Cameron Lenhardt, and 4-star cornerback Ryan Robinson.

Lenhardt plays for the IMG Academy in Florida, while Robinson plays for Mill Creek High School in Georgia. Nebraska has a strong chance to bring in all 3 of its top targets in the Class of 2023 to Lincoln.

Frost is facing pressure after a 3-9 season in 2021. If he can secure a top 50 recruiting class in 2023, that could buy him more time to develop the program.

Nebraska will begin the 2022 season against Northwestern in Dublin on Saturday.
