Kickoff is just around the corner. Later this month, college football will return in its glorious state.
It’s far too early to start making postseason projections and predicting final outcomes, but it’s incredibly fun to try and look into the future. That’s what 247Sports has done with the recent release of bowl projections for the 2021 season.
This year, 247Sports expects nine B1G teams to reach the postseason. Ohio State is predicted to make a return to the College Football Playoff via a fifth-straight B1G title. It would be the Buckeyes’ third-consecutive trip into the field.
Before we look at where the nine B1G teams are projected to head this postseason, here are the five teams left off the list:
- Illinois
- Michigan State
- Nebraska
- Purdue
- Rutgers
Here’s where 247Sports predicts the B1G teams will be going bowling:
- Guaranteed Rate Bowl: Maryland vs. Texas Tech
- Pinstripe Bowl: Indiana vs. Virginia
- Music City Bowl: Northwestern vs. Kentucky
- Las Vegas Bowl: Iowa vs. Washington
- Citrus Bowl: Penn State vs. Ole Miss
- Outback Bowl: Michigan vs. Florida
- RedBox Bowl: Minnesota vs. Stanford
- Rose Bowl: Wisconsin vs. Oregon
- Cotton Bowl (CFP semifinal): Ohio State vs. Alabama
