3 Arizona State assistant head coaches have been put on administrative leave as the NCAA investigates their recruiting practices.
It was first reported by Pete Thamel early Monday morning as defensive backs coach Chris Hawkins and receivers coach Prentice Gill have joined tight ends coach Adam Breneman on leave.

In Thamel’s article, he reports that it’s not surprising to see both Hawkins and Gill on leave as both were named the dossier of evidence of alleged NCAA rule-breaking.
Thamel also notes that they potentially broke some of the rules regarding having prospects visit the school during the dead period. The dead period was put in place due to COVID-19 so that the players reduce travel and don’t face the risk of getting sick. All recruiting had to be done remotely during it, which meant that official visits would have to be on Zoom or other video software.
With three coaches now on leave, head coach Herm Edwards will have to find suitable replacements until this investigation is over.
