The goal at the end of every college basketball season is to be part of March Madness. Three B1G teams have been doing that better than most recently.

Nine B1G teams had their names called on Selection Sunday, tying last year’s record for most teams in a single NCAA Tournament for a conference. Among those teams included were Michigan State, Purdue and Michigan.

The significance? Those three programs are among the schools with the longest March Madness active streaks. A graphic was posted after the Field of 68 was announced on Sunday night.

This will be the 24th straight appearance for Michigan State, the longest in the B1G and second-longest in the country, behind Kansas (32). Purdue is further down at 7 straight years while Michigan has 6 consecutive visits.

Below is the full list:

Those are pretty good streaks to keep alive.

Michigan State is in the tournament as a No. 7 seed and will play Davidson in the first round. Purdue, a No. 3 seed, will take on Yale and No. 11 seed Michigan is matched up against Colorado State.
