This postseason was a pretty disappointing one for the B1G. Despite getting nine teams into the NCAA Tournament, eight were eliminated before the Sweet Sixteen and only Michigan was able to advance to the Elite Eight.
Nobody from the conference reached the Final Four.
Still, with No. 1 seeds Gonzaga and Baylor squaring off on Monday night, there will be plenty of interest in the national championship, even in B1G country. The two best teams in the country will go head-to-head with everything on the line in Indianapolis.
With only two teams left standing, why not take a look at some of the players from the two teams who are originally from B1G states? Sure, it might be a bit painful knowing some of these student-athletes got out of the Midwest, but it might help with your rooting interest on Monday night.
Four players from B1G states will be in Monday night’s title game. Here’s the list:
Baylor Bears
- MaCio Teague — Cincinnati, Ohio
- Zach Loveday — Gallipolis, Ohio
- Dain Dainja — Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Gonzaga Bulldogs
- Jalen Suggs — West St. Paul, Minnesota
