Ohio State’s National Signing Day got off to a bit of a rocky start, as four-star offensive guard Doug Nestor flipped his commitment to Virginia Tech.
The Herald-Dispatch reported around midnight that Nestor confirmed he will sign with the Hokies today. The offensive lineman has been committed to the Buckeyes since August 2017.
While Ohio State is still bringing a solid 2019 class to Columbus, the loss of Nestor is significant, as he was considered one of the top lineman in the cycle.

At 6-foot-1, 300 pounds, Nestor was listed as the No. 6 offensive guard in the class and was the second-best player out of West Virginia. Overall, he’s listed at No. 106.
Ohio State’s 2019 ranking took a hit with Nestor’s flip. Ryan Day’s class currently ranks No. 17 nationally and is third in the B1G, behind Michigan and Penn State.
Nestor was also considering Penn State.
