It sounds like the San Francisco 49ers will be without George Kittle this week.
The 49ers released their final injury report ahead of this week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals and listed Kittle as doubtful with a calf injury. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is out, which means rookie quarterback Trey Lance will make his first NFL start.
#49ers QB Trey Lance will make his first start, per coach Kyle Shanahan. Jimmy Garoppolo is out, while TE George Kittle is doubtful.

Kittle suffered the injury in the 49ers’ Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers and was questionable heading into last week’s matchup with the Seattle Seahawks. The former Iowa standout has 19 receptions for 227 yards this year, but still hasn’t scored a touchdown in 4 games for San Francisco.
This isn’t the first time Kittle has dealt with injuries, though. He missed 8 games last season with a foot injury. His absence this week takes away a top target for Lance in his first NFL start against a solid Arizona defense.
