Ohio State’s dominance on the recruiting trail continues into the new year.

Saturday afternoon, the Buckeyes received a verbal pledge from 5-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary, who is ranked as the No. 10 prospect overall in the 2022 class, regardless of position. The Jacksonville, Fla., native received nearly 30 offers during the recruiting process.

Singletary picked Ohio State over offers from Clemson, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M and USC. He’s another major addition to a class that’s already incredibly strong for the Buckeyes.

Per 247Sports, Singletary is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound CB who ranks as the No. 5 player at his position and is the second-best player from the state of Florida. During the 2018 and 2019 seasons at the high school level, Singletary was responsible for 74 total stops, 14 pass break-ups, 7 interceptions, 2 tackles for loss, a fumble recover and a pick-six.

He’s also played on both sides of the football at the high school level, showing off his incredible versatility on the field.

With Singletary’s commitment, Ohio State maintains its No. 1 ranking with the 2022 recruiting class. The Buckeyes already have 10 pledges, 3 of which are 5-star prospects and 9 of which rank inside the Top 300 nationally.
