One of the nation’s top prospects in the 2022 class has re-opened his recruitment.
ESPN’s Tom VanHaaran reported on Monday that 5-star linebacker Harold Perkins has decommitted from Texas A&M. This news comes after recent visits to Florida and LSU. He initially gave his verbal pledge to the Aggies in early January.
Perkins is ranked as the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247Sports composite rankings. He has received more than 30 offers during the recruiting process.
Perkins is a native of Cypress, Texas and had an outstanding high school career at multiple positions. He’s proven to be versatile on the field and can make a pretty quick impact at the Power 5 level.
During the 2021 season at the high school level, Perkins was credited with 35 tackles, 3 interceptions, 2 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also carried the ball 78 times and racked up 1,352 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground.
At 6-foot-2, 210 ponds, Perkins has the frame to be a quality linebacker at any level. Now that he’s re-opened his recruitment, several schools will be making contact with the 5-star prospect in hopes of flipping him.
