9 B1G players earn honors from PFF All-American squads

Pro Football Focus (PFF) released their 2020 All-American Teams on Monday and nine Big Ten Conference student-athletes were included.

One-third of these honorees, Penn State Nittany Lions senior safety Jaquan Brisker, Ohio State Buckeyes senior defensive tackle Haskell Garrett, and Iowa Hawkeyes redshirt sophomore center Tyler Linderbaum, received first-team recognition.

Northwestern Wildcats redshirt freshman safety Brandon Joseph and Wisconsin Badgers junior inside linebacker Jack Sanborn took home second-team honors, while Iowa redshirt senior right guard Cole Banwart and Michigan State Spartans redshirt junior cornerback Shakur Brown were third-team members.

Rounding out the league’s selections with honorable mention were Indiana Hoosiers junior linebacker Micah McFadden and Northwestern junior cornerback Greg Newsome II.

Notable first-team selections from around the country feature a pair of North Carolina Tar Heel running backs, senior Michael Carter and junior Javonte Williams, TCU Horned Frogs sophomore cornerback Tre’Vius Hodges-Tomlinson, and Alabama Crimson Tide redshirt junior quarterback Mac Jones, senior wide receiver DeVonta Smith and junior cornerback Patrick Surtain II.
