The B1G will have plenty of talent returning at linebacker for the 2019 college football season. On Monday, several of those players earned a mention on the Butkus Award Watch List.
Twelve B1G linebackers received the preseason honor, being named to the watch list. Nine schools were represented, with Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State all having two players make the cut.
The Butkus Award is presented annually to the best linebacker in college football. Last year’s winner was LSU’s Devin White.

- Kamal Martin, Minnesota
- Mohamed Barry, Nebraska
- Paddy Fisher, Northwestern

- Cam Brown, Penn State
- Micah Parsons, Penn State
- Markus Bailey, Purdue
- Zack Baun, Wisconsin
