Iowa will be looking to snap its five-game losing streak against Penn State, but a lot more than that will occurring at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City on Saturday night.
In addition to it being a primetime matchup, the Iowa-Penn State showdown will be the Hawkeyes’ Black & Gold Spirit Game and will feature gold alternate uniforms and a salute to Iowa farmers.

The last time Penn State visited Iowa two years ago, the Hawkeyes gave quite a game to the No. 4 Nittany Lions. Penn State needed a Trace McSorley touchdown pass as time expired to edge Iowa, 21-19. That’s the closest Iowa has come to beating Penn State since its last victory in the series in 2010.
Penn State owns a 16-12 edge in the all-time series against Iowa, but despite the five straight Penn State wins, the Hawkeyes are 8-6, including 4-2 at home against the Nittany Lions since 2000.
