A record number,61 to be exact, have been upset this season. Some of the headline losses have been Alabama losing to unranked at the time Texas A&M, Ohio State losing to Oregon and maybe the biggest upset so far this season has been then No. 2 ranked Iowa after taking down Penn State, losing the following week to unranked Purdue.
With those teams losing, there seems to have been more parity in college football this year especially with the rise of the Cincinnati Bearcats who have risen to the No. 2 in the country according to the AP poll.
The Bearcats have a chance if things continue to fall into place, to be the first non-Power 5 school to make the playoffs but if history this year is any indication, that may be a tough task.
