Aaron Boone throws massive shade at Dave Roberts over USC-UCLA rivalry

Aaron Boone is getting his New York Yankees ready for a World Series showdown against the Los Angeles Dodgers in what is an MLB matchup of epic proportions. Boone will also face Dave Roberts as the opposing manager, and that duo has a special connection to Los Angeles.
The two used to face each other on opposite sides of the USC-UCLA rivalry. Roberts was an outfielder for the Bruins while Boone was an infielder for the Trojans.
While at the World Series media day on Thursday, Boone recalled memories of facing Roberts on the field:
“I can see Doc in that little slap swing he had where he hit the ball he other way,” said Boone. “He was a good player… I remember him well, leadoff hitter, left fielder for the Bruins. Fun times, fun days.”
But Boone didn’t stop there. He took a shot at UCLA while espousing his continued love for all things Trojan:
“I’m a Trojan, as we all know in here: You’re a Trojan for life, you’re Bruin for 4 years,” cracked Boon. “So, I think that’s the case with Doc. He’s probably like indifferent. I get pissed off when the Trojans lose, they’re like ‘Eh, whatever’!”
“I’m a Trojan, so as we all know in here you’re a Trojan for life. You’re a Bruin for four years.” 😂

If Boone is indeed serious, it has been a rough fall considering the Trojans and their recent string of heartbreaking defeats. He’ll also have to hope World Series Game 1 is able to wrap up in a timely manner.
The World Series gets started Friday night at 8:08 pm ET/5:08 pm PT time while Rutgers at USC follows. The Trojans and Scarlet Knights are set for an 11 pm ET/8 pm PT kickoff following Game 1 on FOX.
