Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers have ended their ongoing dance and settled on a long-term deal.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported that Rodgers and the Packers have agreed on a 4-year $200 million deal as he becomes the highest-paid player in NFL history. Last month, Rodgers became the fifth player to repeat as Most Valuable Player.

Rodgers reportedly considered retirement and the Denver Broncos among other options if he didn’t return to the Packers.

Rodgers in 2021 had a great season even after a 2020 season in which he threw a career-high 48 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. In 2021, he finished with 37 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions, which gave him the best touchdown-to-interception ratio in the NFL.

He missed one game due to COVID-19, but the Packers still captured the No. 1 seed in the NFC before a disappointing divisional round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
