On Saturday, Nebraska had an explosive performance from its offense led by dual-threat quarterback Adrian Martinez.

Nebraska dominated Northwestern at home 56-7 thanks to four total touchdowns — including three on the ground — from Martinez.

Martinez is the first power five quarterback to account for three rushing touchdowns in the first quarter since Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback in Louisville’s Lamar Jackson in 2016 against Syracuse.

Jackson rushed for 199 yards and four touchdowns on 21 carries in the game against Syracuse.

Martinez was highly efficient in the RPO-schemes last night against the defense of Northwestern. Martinez finished with three touchdowns and 50 yards on eight carries as he scored on two one-yard runs and a run of 19-yards in the first quarter.

The offense for Nebraska rushed for 427 yards and seven touchdowns on 53 carries against the defense of Northwestern.

Nebraska faces Michigan in Week 6 as it looks to win a second straight game.
