After just one week, AAF sold to new owner

After just one week of existence, the Alliance of American Football has changed owners.
Per business reporter Darren Rovell, Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon paid $250 million for the AAF and is now the owner and chairman of the league. While there have been two weeks of football played, the sale came after the first week.
The sale comes after the league failed to make payroll in Week 1. Players still haven’t been paid for their first game.
BREAKING: After week one, the new football league, the AAF, essentially sold off the entire league to Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon. Dundon puts in $250 million.

The AAF missed payroll in Week 1. They told agents that it was a glitch with switching to a new administrator. They told players would be paid by today the latest.

Launching a new sports league isn’t an easy venture, but struggling to make payments after one week isn’t a very promising sign. While the idea of having football in the winter and spring seems like a slam dunk, clearly there are questions about sustainability.
At the moment, things don’t look too promising for the future of the AAF.
