Ahron Ulis, Iowa men’s basketball guard, has been suspended due to disorderly conduct “fighting or violent behavior in a public place or while in or near a lawful assembly of persons,” John Steppe of The Gazette reports.

According to the complaint, the incident happened near the Airliner, a bar in Iowa City. Through 35 games last season, Ulis scored 3.1 points, 2.1 assists, and 2 rebounds per game.

The program announced via statement Ulis will be suspended for the exhibition game on Monday, Oct. 31.

With Jordan Bohannon and Joe Toussaint gone from the roster, Ulis is expected to be a major competitor along with freshman Desonte Bowen for starting point guard duties this season.

After having 2 dominant big men the past two seasons in Keegan Murray and Luka Garza, the Hawkeyes will look to find a way to replace the production left behind by their stars. Hopefully, Kris Murray and others can step up after a B1G Tournament Championship for Iowa last season.

The Hawkeyes will host Truman State without Ulis on Monday and will open the season the following week on Nov. 7 against Bethune-Cookman.
