“I don’t really know, man. They’re doing all their investigations. They’re coming at Michigan when Michigan’s got a shot to win the national championship this year,” Hutchinson said. “It is what it is I guess. Time will pass. People will forget about it and move on once we’re the champs again.”
Hutchinson claims neither he nor any of his teammates had involvement with Michigan staffer Connor Stalions, who has emerged as a person of interest in the case.
“I didn’t have a relationship with him. It’s kind of the coaches upstairs that you really don’t see,” Hutchinson said. “I don’t think any of the players really had a relationship with him ever.”
While at Michigan, Hutchinson was a unanimous All-American and recipient of the Lombardi Award, Ted Hendricks Award, and Lott Trophy. The Lions selected Hutchinson with the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Hutchinson earned All-Rookie Team honors from PFWA after tallying 9.5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries during his first pro season.
Next up for Michigan after the bye week is a home contest vs. Purdue on Nov. 4.
