After recording his first NFL sack early in Week 2’s matchup with the Commanders, Aidan Hutchinson never slowed down and set a Detroit Lions’ rookie record with 3 sacks. All of his sacks came in just the first half.
The Michigan product is showing why he was good enough to be the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft early in the season. Hutchinson added 2 tackles for loss in the Lions’ 38-27 victory over the Commanders.
His first sack came on 3rd-and-4 in Washington’s first drive, catching Carson Wentz from behind. Hutchinson’s second sack came early in the second quarter after catching Wentz on a rollout.
For the Lions’ rookie record, Hutchinson blew through a hole in the middle of the line unblocked for his 3rd sack of the half.
