Purdue and Syracuse are engaged in a high-scoring fourth quarter, but Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell produced one of the worst interceptions in the season. In an odd play, O’Connell threw to Syracuse redshirt junior defensive linemen Caleb Okechukwu returned for a pick-six.
That pick-six thrown by O’Connell helped extend Syracuse’s lead 25-15.

O’Connell was under pressure from the defensive line of Syracuse and either tried to throw it anyway or tried to get the ball to the receiver on the right. His underthrown pass was easily read by Okechuku and returned for a 16-yard interception returned for a touchdown.
O’Connell was able to redeem himself on the next drive as he found star wide receiver Charlie Jones for a 55-yard touchdown. That touchdown reduced Syracuse’s lead to 25-22.
The game was 10-9 in favor of Syracuse at the end of the third quarter. Purdue and Syracuse were able to score two touchdowns each in the fourth quarter.
