Al Michaels is being ripped on social media for his call of a historic playoff comeback by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The announcing did not match the excitement of the game, especially in the 2nd half. With the Jaguars down by 2 and about to kick a field goal to complete the massive comeback, Michaels sounded… unimpressed. Naturally, social media noticed the lack of enthusiasm and reacted to it on social media.
I’ll never forget Al Michaels legendary call for one of the largest comebacks in playoff history.
“ok here we go for the win. he got it but there’s a flag down. there’s a flag down…and they call it on the defense.”

3rd biggest comeback in playoff history and legit Al Michaels and Tony Dungy may have taken a quick snooze during the final kick. I can’t even think about the game. I’m too furious with the announcing job. #jags pic.twitter.com/QGzJ9mFMWM

one of the greatest playoff comebacks of all time and Al Michaels made it seem like it was a PGA practice round.
Never let him call another NFL game. pic.twitter.com/3y58ykwds5

Al Michaels was paid $15 **million** a year to make a call like that on a game winning FG on a monster comeback. You are stealing. Retire.

Congratulations to Al Michaels and Tony Dungy for sucking the entire drama out of that field goal kick

Al Michaels having absolutely no idea what’s been going on for a solid 90 seconds. Dungy talking like he’s in a library during a 4 TD comeback.
Put this broadcast recording in Canton for the worst ever, truly the all time WORST I’ve ever heard to the point it’s beyond hilarious

As disgusting and shameful as that Chargers loss what was worse was the decision to have Al Michaels and Tony Dungy destroy one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history. They were abysmal. Completely disinterested and lame as any announcing duo in history.

The Jaguars just had one of the most insane comebacks in NFL playoffs history, and Al Michaels and Tony Dungy sounded like they were at a funeral.

Al Michaels calling the biggest comeback of all time in the playoffs sounds like he’s reading the names of US soldiers who died in Vietnam

As you can see, the sports world was less than impressed by the uninspired call.
The comeback by the Jaguars was the 3rd-largest in NFL playoff history.
