Wisconsin has a major question mark at the quarterback position entering Saturday’s game against Penn State.

Monday, the Badgers released their injury report for this week, with several players listed as questionable. One of those was quarterback Alex Hornibrook, who has suffered from head injuries over the last few weeks.

Hornibrook did not participate in Wisconsin’s game against Northwestern two weeks ago while in concussion protocol, pushing backup Jack Coan into the starting role. Last week, Hornibrook played in the first half against Rutgers but missed the second half due to a head injury.

According to the injury report, Hornibrook’s status is in question due to the head injury.

Coan has played in just two games this season, but has put up consistent effort for the Badgers. As the starter against Northwestern, he threw for 158 yards and a touchdown while completing 20-of-31 passes. In the second half against Rutgers, he was 5-of-7 for 64 yards and a touchdown.

He has not thrown an interception in those two games.

Wisconsin and Penn State are both 6-3 on the season. The Badgers are 4-2 in the B1G while the Nittany Lions are 3-3. The two teams last met in the B1G Championship Game in 2016, a matchup Penn State won 38-31.

The all-time series is tied at 9-9 but the Nittany Lions have won three straight over the Badgers.
