Alex Palczewski took the field against Michigan State on Saturday as a record-holder.

With the 61st start of his career as an Illini, Palczewski extended his own Illinois and B1G record for career starts. Palczewski’s 61st game is tied for the second-most in FBS history.

Palczewski arrived at Illinois in 2017 as a 3-star recruit and No. 45 offensive tackle in the nation. The OT had 36 consecutive starts through 2019 before missing 4 games in 2020 due to injury.

In addition to setting records, Palczewski has been a key playmaker for the Illini this season. The OT has been named to the PFF Midseason All-American third team, the Rotary Lombardi Award Midseason Watch List, Athlon Preseason All-Big Ten third team, and the PFF National Team of the Week after the game vs. Indiana in Week 1.
