Jeff Hafley continues to pluck members from Ohio State’s staff and bring them to Boston College.

On Friday, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported that Hafley has hired Matt Thurin to become the special teams coordinator with the Eagles. He had spent the last five seasons at Ohio State as a defensive quality control analyst. He becomes the third staff member from the Buckeyes to follow Hafley to Chestnut Hill.

Earlier this offseason, Ohio State grad assistant Sean Duggan was named the linebackers coach at Boston College. Hafley also hired Phil Matusz away from Ohio State to become the strength and conditioning coach for the Eagles.

Prior to his arrival in Columbus, Thurin was the secondary coach and special teams coordinator at Columbia University (2012-14). He was also a graduate assistant at Colorado in 2011.

Hafley was named the head coach at Boston College after spending one season as the co-defensive coordinator and secondary coach at Ohio State.
