Ohio State has grabbed another big-time commitment out of the Longhorn state and this time, it’s five-star wide receiver Caleb Burton III out of Texas.

Here’s his official verbal commitment to the school, via his Twitter page:

Per his 247Sports page, he’s the 15th ranked player nationally for the 2022 class and the No. 2 receiver in the country on the composite rankings. He’s also the fourth-ranked player overall in the state of Texas and his composite ranking is 0.9906.

The other schools that were interested in him were Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Stanford.

Burton’s commitment comes on the heels of Ohio State pulling in a commitment from fellow Texan Quinn Ewers. Ewers is the top-ranked QB for 2022 and the No. 2 overall player nationally for the class.

It goes without saying, but Ohio State and the staff of head coach Ryan Day are on an insane roll right now. Burton’s commitment now gives the Buckeyes three five-star recruits for the class of 2022 with Burton, Ewers, and in-state linebacker Gabe Powers.

Beyond those three players, the Buckeyes have five of the top-50 prospects for the 2022 class already committed. According to 247 Sports, Ohio State currently has the No. 1 class in the nation.

It also bears mentioning that this is all for the 2022 class, without even discussing Ohio State’s 2021 class which is ranked No. 2 nationally with four, five-star recruits. Needless to say, the Buckeyes are set up for years to come!
