Three B1G basketball players have been named to the Associated Press All-America Teams. The AP released the selections on Friday afternoon from the 2019-20 season.
Iowa center Luka Garza was the lone B1G player to receive first-team honors, following an outstanding season with the Hawkeyes. Garza averaged 23.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. He finished the season with 15 double-doubles while leading the Hawkeyes to a 20-11 record on the year.
Michigan State guard Cassius Winston was a second-team All-American after helping the Spartans claim a share of the B1G title for a third-straight season. Winston averaged 18.6 points, 5.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds per contest. He also shot nearly 45 percent from the floor.
Maryland’s Jalen Smith received third-team honors after finishing the year with a double-double average. Smith was a catalyst in the Terrapins winning a share of the B1G regular season title, averaging 15.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He totaled 21 double-doubles on the year.
