AP Men’s Basketball Poll, Feb. 27: 3 B1G teams land in top 25 of latest rankings

The AP Men’s Basketball Poll was updated Monday as we head into the final week of the regular season.

With the regular season winding down, the top 5 in the country remained the same with Houston leading the way at No. 1 overall. Alabama, Kansas, UCLA and Purdue rounded out the top 5.

In terms of first-place votes, Houston dominated with 49 votes received. Though No. 3 on the poll, Kansas was second in first-place votes with 8 while Alabama received 5.

In terms of the B1G, Indiana bumped 2 spots after completing a season sweep of Purdue with a win in Mackey Arena. Maryland also jumped back into the top 25 at No. 21 after a blowout win over Northwestern. The Wildcats dropped out into the “others receiving votes” section.
