Arch Manning had himself a great time when he took an official visit to Austin, Texas. The Athletic’s Sam Khan did a FOIA request and got all the details of what went down.
Texas apparently had a multitude of activities for Manning and his family to engage in when he visited. This included a 5-star hotel, an upscale steakhouse, a cruise on a lake, custom cakes, an ice sculpture, TopGolf, and an open bar for the parents.
Manning visited with Texas on Jun. 17, and didn’t take too long to commit to the Longhorns. He picked them as his school shortly after on Jun. 23.
Texas paid a pretty penny to show Manning around, with the visit costing the university around $280K.
The Longhorns sure do know how to convince someone. Manning is a 5-star recruit and the No. 1 QB and No. 1 recruit from Louisiana from the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite.
Maybe more schools will follow in Texas’ footsteps when it comes to recruiting top talent.
We FOIA’d receipts and itineraries to see what it was like when Texas hosted Arch Manning and 8 others on an official visit.
From a 5-star hotel, to an upscale steakhouse, to a cruise on the lake, the Longhorns rolled out the red carpet.
