Army versus Navy is an American tradition that is arguably one of the best rivalries in college football. The two service academies house some of the best and brightest students who will look to serve as officers in both respective branches.
Army represents a lot of history throughout the years and this season the Black Knights will showcase uniforms that pay respect to the 1st Armored Division. This year marks the 80th anniversary of Operation Torch, which began US ground operations in WWII for both European and North African campaigns.

The largest amphibious assault in history took place with ‘Old Ironsides’, the heralded nick-name for the armored division, leading the charge which resulted in an Allied victory in harsh conditions. The “Iron Soldiers” symbol is part of this year’s Army football uniform in a mixed color scheme that is mimicking the desert conditions those Soldiers fought in.
The 123rd Army vs. Navy Game will be played on Dec. 10 on CBS at 3pm EST.
