Before hitting that three, Dread was 0-for-4 from the field. He also had one rebound in the win before hitting the game-winner.
In Penn State’s other game this season (against VMI), Dread had eight points with three rebounds and a steal.
It was a tight game the whole way through as Penn State led VCU by just three at halftime and then both teams just turned the game into a nail-biter. Seth Lundy was the Nittany Lions best player as he had a career-high 32 points but Sam Sessoms also was great too. He had 17 points with two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Up next for the Nittany Lions is a game against Seton Hall on Saturday before the ACC/B1G challenge against No. 16 Virginia Tech next Tuesday.
