NBA All-Star Kevin Durant was present on Zoom during a meeting with the Maryland football team and it was for a great cause.
Durant surprised Terps defensive lineman Greg Rose with a full scholarship offer after Rose was with the team as a walk-on. The Terps Twitter tweeted the video out on their official account here:

He starts out the video by wishing the team good luck this season and that he’ll be watching them since he grew up only 10 minutes away from the campus. After that, he delivered the special message to Rose but not before the team mauled him in celebration.
Getting a scholarship has been a long time coming for Rose after he committed to the Terps in 2020. He played at Lackawanna Community College for 1 year in 2019 and was one of their best interior players. Rose had 10 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss to go along with 44 total tackles.
The Terps will be hoping he can make an immediate impact for them this season now that he’s on scholarship. Their first game will be against West Virginia on Sept. 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
