Tragedy struck in Texas early Sunday morning.
According to Kelli Smith of The Dallas Morning News, Tony Evans Jr. — a Wyoming football signee — was shot and killed in Dallas on Sunday.
Wyoming coach Craig Bohl has since released a statement.
“Our hearts are with the Evans family as they go through this incredibly difficult time,” Bohl said. “We are so sad to hear of Tony’s passing.”

Evans Jr. attended Lancaster High School near Dallas. He was set to join the Cowboys for this upcoming season.
According to the Dallas Morning News’ report, Smith and another person were shot at a Hawthorn Suites hotel in the Stemmons Corridor, about three miles from Dallas Love Field Airport. The other victim is reportedly in stable condition.
Per Smith’s report, no suspects are currently in custody.
