It only took one week into the NFL preseason to provide the first awkward moment in broadcasting. ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes was the culprit on Saturday night.
Not prepared for the cameras to pan into the broadcast booth, Kimes was caught in an awkward moment, made even funnier by her commentary on the situation. Play-by-play man Andrew Siciliano made the comment, “Hey look, we’re on camera.”
The response from Kimes? “So are my pants.”

Kimes was sharing the booth with Siciliano and Aqib Talib on Saturday night for the preseason game between the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
Even though it was an awkward moment, Kimes was a great sport about the situation. She made the following comment shortly after on Twitter:
my brain: just don’t embarrass yourself in front of Aqib Talib

It’s awesome that Kimes was able to laugh at herself.
Kimes is considered one of ESPN’s top analysts covering the NFL. There’s a chance she’ll be on more broadcasts throughout the season because of her widespread knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport.
She might just have to get a little more accustomed to being in the broadcast booth.
