Ayo Dosunmu’s NBA career is off and running.

The former star for Illinois was drafted by the hometown Chicago Bulls this summer with the 38th overall pick. On Wednesday, Chicago officially announced that Dosunmu has inked his contract with the team.

According to Shams Charania with The Athletic, Dosunmu’s deal is a guaranteed two-year contract. The deal is also reported to come in at $2.48 million.

During Summer League action, Dosunmu appeared in 5 games for the Bulls. He averaged 26.1 minutes per game with 12.6 points. Dosunmu shot 42% from the floor but struggled from three-point range. He rounded out his stat line with 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.

Now that Dosunu has gotten his feet wet in NBA action, the next step is securing a spot in the regular rotation for Chicago. Hopefully, he is able to prove himself and earn minutes early on in his career.
