The B1G has named this week’s men’s basketball Players of the Week, after the league returned to conference play.
Michigan State guard Cassius Winston was named the B1G Player of the Week, after outstanding performances against Illinois and Michigan, leading the Spartans to a 2-0 record in B1G games. Winston had a career-high 32 points in Sunday’s 87-69 victory over Michigan in East Lansing.
Winston was also named the Naismith Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for averaging 26.5 points and 7.5 assists over the last week.
Iowa freshman Joe Toussaint was named the B1G Freshman of the Week following a big day against Penn State. Toussaint scored a career-high 18 points in the Hawkeyes’ 89-86 loss to Penn State on Saturday.
Toussaint also grabbed four rebounds.
