The B1G just finished Week 2 of the 2022-23 college football season. Some teams are happy, others aren’t – So goes the reality of the sport.

The conference announced the top performers from the week Monday morning. The list included 5 players across 5 separate programs.

The selections can be viewed below:

Co-Offensive Players of the Week

  • WR Marvin Harrison Jr, Ohio State
  • QB Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland

Marvin Harrison was unstoppable Saturday against Arkansas State. How’s 7 receptions for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns sound? He didn’t just have the game of the week for the B1G, but probably the game of the season for any wide receiver in the conference.

Tagovailoa was incredible in his own remark. The Terrapins cruised to a 56-21 victory over Charlotte thanks to Tagovailoa’s efforts, which added 27 completed passes of 31 attempted with 391 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception.

Defensive Player of the Week

  • LB Jacoby Windmon, Michigan State

Jacoby Windmon won the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week award last week. Why not add another honor? Windmon’s efforts on defense helped the Spartans blank Akron, 52-0, seeing the UNLV transfer force 3 fumbles with 5 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.

Special Teams Player of the Week

  • DL Lukas Van Ness, Iowa

Van Ness blocked 2 punts against Iowa State, tying a school record for the Hawkeyes. Iowa just came up short to Iowa State, falling 10-7.

Freshman of the Week

  • RB Nick Singleton, Penn State

Everyone knew Nick Singleton was going to be special, but it’s amazing what he has done for the Nittany Lions already just 2 weeks into his college career. He rushed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns on just 10 carries Saturday.
