B1G announces Players of the Week following Week 4 action
By Paul Harvey
Published:
Week 4 is in the books, and the B1G has some huge performances honored with the Players of the Week!
On Monday, the conference announced a total of 6 recipients of the weekly honor. Iowa led the way with two Hawkeyes earning Player of the Week.
Co-Offensive Players of the Week
- RB Blake Corum, Michigan
- QB Tanner Morgan, Minnesota
Corum was electric for the Wolverines in the first B1G game and first real test of the 2022 season. He set career-high marks in carries and rushing yards, eclipsing 200 yards in the win over Maryland.
Morgan and the Gophers were also impressive, though Minnesota rolled to a blowout win over Michigan State on the road. Morgan’s efficient outing was particularly impressive considering the loss of Chris Autman-Bell to injury.

Merriweather had a big game in the win over Rutgers, returning a fumble for a touchdown in the game. He also produced an interception to go with 3 tackles and a pass breakup as the Iowa defense has held opponents to 23 points in four games.
Eichenberg was a stout defender in the middle during Ohio State’s blowout win over Wisconsin. He recorded 14 tackles and 2 TFL as the Buckeyes limited Wisconsin to one TD over the first three quarters.
