Earlier this evening, former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer unveiled his top three coaches of the week and it was a Big Ten sweep.
In his top three, he had Indiana’s Tom Allen at No. 1, Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst at No. 2, and Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz at No. 3.

When Meyer was doing the rankings, he talked about Allen with Indiana and he said, “With the win over Michigan State, Tom Allen has led Indiana to its first 4-0 start in Big Ten play since 1987. Indiana is up to No. 9 in America for the first time since 1967.”
A lot of credit also has to go to Indiana’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, who’s second on Meyer’s coordinator rankings for this week. In their last two matchups, the Hoosiers have given up just 21 points combined.
Even though Meyer didn’t directly have a quote about Chryst or Ferentz, they still were excellent this week. Chryst’s Badgers held Michigan to just 11 points while Iowa smacked Minnesota 35-7. The Hawkeyes have given up a combined 14 points in their last two games.
