The 2020 fiscal year might have delivered a major blow to athletic departments across the country, but the B1G still led the way in terms of revenue, according to a recent report.
Steve Berkowitz of USA Today reported that the B1G was still the leader among conferences when it came to total revenue for the 2020 fiscal year, as well as school payouts. It was followed by the SEC, Pac-12, ACC and Big 12.
Here are the numbers, per Berkowitz:
Total revenue
- B1G: $768.9 million
- SEC: $728.9 million
- Pac-12: $533.8 million
- ACC: $496.7 million
- Big 12: $409.2 million
School payouts
- B1G: $54.3 millions
- SEC: $45.5 million
- Big 12: $37 to $40.5 million
- Pac-12: $33.6 million
- ACC: $30.9 to $37 million
Because of deals with Big Ten Network, FOX and ESPN, the B1G has continually been the top conference in terms of total revenue and school payouts.
