The first games scheduled to run are for Saturday, Aug 28th: Kansas State vs. Nebraska, Baylor vs. Wisconsin and TCU vs. Minnesota.
In a press release from BTN, the network highlighted why they wanted to expand their volleyball coverage coming off the Olympic Games in Toyko.
“Following the U.S. Olympic women’s volleyball team gold medal in Tokyo, with a roster featuring eight B1G Volleyball alumni, the Big Ten Network announced the most expansive volleyball schedule in network history. The 2021 schedule includes at least 47 matches on television, a new high-water mark for the network, with all non-televised matches scheduled to appear on Big Ten Network+.”
In the last AVCA poll last spring, 6 B1G teams finished in the top 25 and 5 in the top 10: Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota, Ohio State, Purdue and Penn State.
